Hospitality Workforce Training Initiative

Building Skills. Strengthening Community. Supporting Local Industry.

The Quimper Events Collective (QEC) is leading a regional initiative to address critical workforce needs across Jefferson County’s hospitality, events, and creative sectors. With support from a grant-funded program, this effort is designed to strengthen our local workforce by identifying training opportunities that align with the real-world needs of businesses, venues, and industry professionals.

Why This Matters

From weddings to festivals, small inns to full-service restaurants, our region’s economy thrives on the strength of its hospitality and events workforce. But like many rural communities, we’re experiencing labor shortages and a lack of training pipelines for the next generation of workers. This program seeks to change that by developing accessible, meaningful workforce training that supports career pathways and boosts local business success.

Help Shape the Training Curriculum

We’re currently gathering input from industry stakeholders to inform the design of this program. Whether you’re a business owner, team manager, or part of a nonprofit organization, your insights will help shape the curriculum and ensure it meets the needs of our unique community.

Program Goals

  • Understand current workforce challenges in hospitality and events

  • Co-design training modules that are locally relevant, flexible, and skills-based

  • Develop a talent pipeline that supports both employers and job seekers

  • Increase collaboration between businesses, educators, and community organizations
